Welcome to Garden and Birds

Garden and Birds is the web site for The Potting Shed Garden & Bird Care shop in Dorchester, Dorset. The Potting Shed was born out of buying an old garden shop called The Conservatory in January 2006.

The joint owner, Shaun Samways, had previously spent twenty five years working and managing garden centres around the South West of England and in the Republic of Ireland and was really keen to bring gardening back to the high street. There are vast numbers of people who just can't get to out-of-town garden centres but would still like to access the products that they sell.

A combination of good customer service and a large range of useful, everyday, gardening and wild bird care products along with some unusual and interesting products too provides a good gardening outlet for local people. The owners twenty five years experience is not going to be wasted either with plenty of friendly, free helpful knowledge on hand as well.
